The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the civilian component of the United States Coast Guard. Tens-of-thousands of men and women of the Auxiliary donate their time to make recreational boating safer through public education classes, vessel safety checks, public event activities and safety patrols on the water, land and in the air. We do not perform any military or law enforcement duties. We are a volunteer organization committed to assisting the Coast Guard in accomplishing their aims and missions.
We assist and augment our members in reaching the maximum level of training and leadership that they are willing to achieve. We educate the boating public on safe boating practices, as well as Maritime Homeland Security. We conduct ourselves in a professional manner and abide by the governing policies established by the Commandant of the United States Coast Guard, always reflecting the Coast Guard core values of Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty.
